Sermon
for Christmas Day 12/25
First Thoughts:
Christmas day is a time to step back from the familiar account of manger,
angels and shepherds and simply dwell in the mystery of the incarnation.
One of the carols we sing is a spiritual titled “Go, Tell It On The Mountain.” It is based on Old
Testament lesson today, Isaiah 52.
We may not fully understand how the fullness of God can
dwell in the form of a child, but all of our Christmas singing and celebrations
help us to “Go, Tell It” to the world.
“Go,
Tell It”
Tell of God’s reign (7-8)
Tell of God’s Salvation (9-10)
