Thoughts: The Old Testament lessons in Epiphany dwell on the power of God’s
Almighty Word as God calls people like Samuel and Jonah to speak it. Today’s selection from Deuteronomy is about
the prophet Moses and the greater prophet who comes after him. Moses was not a willing vessel, at first. He came up with all manner of excuses for God
to choose someone else. He eventually
discovered what makes a prophet great.
God says “I will put my words in his mouth.”
